About Mary Schepisi
Mary Schepisi has had numerous exhibitions in Melbourne, New York City, Los Angeles and London. Her work is held in numerous collections. Known for the duality of her work, she combines her interest in the beauty of nature and form, with hard-hitting commentary on the paradox of life and her deeply felt concerns for humanity, not least of these in recent years, the plight of refugee’s around the world.

In addition to her own art practice, Schepisi is an active supporter of art philanthropy. In 2009 she conceived and organized an art auction that raised $84,000 for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation In 2014 Schepisi conceived and organized an art auction for APC (Australian Prostate Cancer).

It is now a significant bi-annual Art Auction that has raised more than AUD$220,000, in its first three events and which has become the leading artist supported fundraising auction in Australia under Mary’s direction.

Schepisi was part of the inaugural fundraising committee to raise funds for the McClelland Sculpture Park and Gallery which established the Dame Elizabeth Murdoch Lifetime Achievement Award for Sculpture.

Mary Schepisi and her producer/director husband, Fred Schepisi, travel and share their time working between Melbourne and New York City, as well as locations for film shoots.
